Event GSSF Indoor League @ LAX Firing Range (06/29, 07/27, & 08/24)

Great match today at LAX Firing Range (I didn’t see Crispy, so he must have slept in).

I shot five divisions and managed two perfect scores (my first time achieving those at a match, previously I had only pulled them off in practice, so quite the personal achievement).

Stock (G24): 485 (30X) *FTF
MOS (G23/45): 494 (33X)
Unlimited (G17): 500 (36X)
Rimfire (G44): 491 (36X) *FTF
Pocket (G43): 250 (22X)

I was pretty consistent across the board with the exception of some malfunctions that got me a little rattled. I guess it’s time to clean the guns.

The turn out was slightly better, but nothing like it was in 2020, or the years prior to that. I wonder where everyone went.

I didn't manage to pull off any perfect scores this time around, but I improved on a couple and digressed on the others.

Stock (24): 488 (27X)
MOS (G47): 481 (33X)
Unlimited (G17): 478 (31X)
Rimfire (G44): 496 (37X)
Pocket (G42): 248 (17X)

I did clean the guns, so no malfunctions, but I didn't get a chance to hit the range the week of. 😃 😔

Well, that’s a wrap for the series of the indoor league. The turnout was about the same as Match #2, but a far cry from glory of the previous leagues.

It went a little better for me, but still no repeat of my perfect scores from Match #1.

Stock (24): 496 (34X)
MOS (G45): 493 (37X)
Unlimited (G17): 477 (32X)
Rimfire (G44): 490 (37X)
Pocket (G42): 248 (22X)

Had some trouble with the G44 FTF. Also struggled some with the 17 in Unlimited. The trigger felt super light.

The awards, free gun drawing will be held on Saturday (09/27).

In speaking with Raul (Manager) he said they try again in Q4’2024 (October, November, and December).

How was turn out before? I'm thinking this is a great way to get people out to test their firearms in a safe way

The 2020 league had about 20-30 participants. The circa 2014/2015/2016 leagues had 30-50.

The indoor shoot was a fun event, much different than the outdoor match. Thank you Chad for organizing it and to all those that participated and to LAX range for hosting it. Chad are you able to post the spreadsheet with results like you did back in 2020. It was nice to see the running scores after each match to see how we all did.

In 2020 they actually posted the score themselves and I just put them in the GoogleSheet. So, I made a new spreadsheet for this league and shared it with LAX. I’m not sure if they’re trying to keep it a secret or what, but they haven’t updated it all.

What kinda system is it?

The scoring is via the Lewis Allocation Method / System. You must shoot a minimum 2:3 matches in the league to be ranked. If you shoot 3 you drop the lowest score and then average the other two. If you only shot two, then those two will be averaged. The top 1/3 is A Class, the middle 1/3 is B Class, and the bottom 1/3 is C class.

I mean how does LAX report the scores? Do you need a score keeping system?

Oh, I don’t know I’m not a match director. I’m just a guy who likes to compete and was trying to help out. I think the actual scores are on paper and are mailed back to GLOCK.

In MOS I shot a 496 twice so average was 496. We were close in Stock. My two scores was a 488 and a 496 (40X). Unfortunately, I didn't write down the number of X when I shot the 488. Do you know what time we will meet next Saturday at LAX range. Thanks

Congrats on your first places. I like your spreadsheet version better.

Damn, much closer than I thought. I actually shot two different guns in MOS a G45 and a G47. I shot the G45 first and then switched to the G47 for the second match but went back to the G45 when I didn’t shoot as well. Good on you for giving me a run for the money. I’ll have to level it up for the next one.

Are you going to shoot the outdoor match at R66 in November?

8:45AM Raul mentioned having coffee and doughnuts available.

Chad, you already set a very high bar. Don't go too high, I won't be able to keep up. Yes, plan on doing the GSSF in November but miss Burro.
