Feedback Next Feature? What would you like to see?

The marketplace is clogged with expired postings. I support having posting expire, but I recommend not having the expired threads be bumped to the top.

I'd allow people to filter for expired postings, but let them sink down the list of postings.
Where are you seeing expired posts? By default it should only show open listings when you click on an ad. If you’re using search, use the classifieds search in advanced to filter out expired. Expired ads shouldn’t get bumped they’re removed.

I think I see you’re looking at the forum section. That is just and update to move to expired. They’ll move down over time. Its serves as a notification to the seller and buyer that it’s timed out and time for relisting or delisted at that post

Click on “Classifieds” to go to the actual listings

Hi, the site looks good so far! I think a lot of newcomers would be interested in FAQs with helpful answers as they pertain to California.

That’s how I ended up on Calguns at first. Because so many have taken the time to write out how to purchase a handgun, or explain the roster, or the differences between center fire and rim fire, etc.

I think that would draw in less established, newer gun owners. Which, honestly, many people are, starting around 2020.

If you click on Resources in the Navigation there’s a list of FAQ’s for California.

If there’s anything that you don’t see please feel free to start a topic so we can crowd source the data. Once it gets mature enough, we’ll move it to the Reaources tab

Thanks for the suggestion and feel free to make more. If anything is missing we’ll add it as it comes along.

We’re just over 100 days with the site being up so still building our community.

Ah, that's great! I do think maybe a sticky on top of, say, the handguns forum pointing to the resources page for information on the roster might be helpful.

I'd like to see a holster section. I've seen it written that I'll have a drawer full of holsters before I find one that works for me. Having a place to list my unused dust collectors would be nice. It would also be nice to see holster listed by their intended use. Example, HK USP 45, CZ PCR, Glock 19, ect. Even more nice would be picking up holsters that I need/want.

I’d love if we could save our classifieds filter preferences so I wouldn’t have to re-toggle them each time I login.

(As someone who lives in socal, norcal and central region results for are not relevant for me for PPT).

I otherwise love the classifieds function so far; and have completed 2 PPTs here already. Thank you, CAguns B/S/T classifieds are infinitely better than calguns!

Maybe you could show when a classified/ad has been closed/sold in the listing format? I browse through listings and find something that I'm interested in, only to open it and find out it's already sold or closed.

You might be looking in the forum section. Use the search feature in the Classified section. There all expired and sold listings are filtered out by default.

The forum section is mainly there because people are used to calguns.

Something I would like to see added that would make my browsing of classifieds a little better:

For each classified listing I would like a 'Hide' button. When I click the button, I no longer want to see that classified when it gets bumped, and it should be added to 'Hidden Listings' under the classifieds tab. In 'Hidden Listings' I should be able to un-hide a classified.

Thanks for all you do

I realize that there is a two hour window to edit a post but often more up to date info on a subject comes forth and the post needs to be amended to reflect that update. Quoting ones own post to make an addition, deletion or correct grammatical errors to reflect edits just add clutter to the thread.

Just curious as to why no "edit" after two hours. I somewhat understand the deleting post issue, but not entirely.

Respectfully
Kyle

The idea is once you've said it, that's it. If its something of a bigger issue like a legal thing or something with known updates, that would go under /resources/ which is editable by the author. Grammar errors after two hours seems like it should be enough. If you want to delete the post, you can do that.

Otherwise, we're just more strict on certain things to keep things cleaner.

Knowing you can only edit within 2 hours makes you think twice about what you're posting instead of the freedom to come back and change it anytime. If the thread is active and you edit it on post 20 when its on post 30, no one will see the change. I'm not opposed to make it a little longer, but I want to make sure people know what they say can't be taken back for several reasons.

Thanks for understanding. We also follow a similar model for Classifieds. You cannot edit price after its sold. We're trying to make things as fair as possible and honestly, we hope these limits will encourage folks to be nicer to one another. If that makes sense.
