I finally got some range time with the Osight C red dot and wanted to share some real-world feedback for anyone considering one.
This was a first range test on two platforms: Glock 17 (9mm) & S&W R8 .357 Magnum revolver (full-power ammo)
Short version: it was boringly reliable. The optic held zero at 25 yards, had excellent reticle clarity (even with astigmatism), and showed very minimal tint compared to some optics that cost twice as much.
Window size feels ideal for an EDC-style optic, big enough to be forgiving without being competition-large.
Big highlights: Side-loading battery RMR footprint Included screws actually fit (no trimming) Clear glass, crisp dot/circle reticle No zero shift after recoil or slide racking
No torture testing here, I buy my own optics, but based on actual shooting, the Osight C punches well above its price point. For casual range shooters or those wanting a solid budget RMR footprint optic, it’s hard to ignore. Check out Shortshot Tony or MrGunsnGear channels for drop and rough testing.
