  • easy to set up appointments

Have transferred two AR lowers through Tommy and a bunch of ammo orders. Always easy to get in touch, available when he says he'll be, and professional. Have seen great reviews of his slide work and hope to utilize those services down the line. Also sells blocked mags at reasonable prices.

Excellent staff and good inventory
Pros
  • fast and friendly
  • good with paperwork
  • decent sized inventory
Cons
  • parking can be difficult at times
I recently did a PPT here and I had nothing but great conversation with Mr. Zacharia. Rohi was very patient and easy to conversate with. The business currently has a electronic system to expedite the beginning of forms 4473 which took me less than 5 minutes including the physical fingerprinting process and signing of forms.

Walk ins are welcome if they are open.
Their pricing on new firearms and accessories are unbeatable. They sell it at the lowest dollar amount they can.
Staff is always friendly and helpful.
You might get lucky and meet Reno May in there from time to time.

Favorite FFL In NorCal
Pros
  • Non-Pollitical
  • Super knowledgeable staff
  • Free orders for items not in stock
  • LCP Membership Benefits (5% - 10% off)
  • Best pricing in the area
Have been coming here for years.

The staff has always been super helpful and always willing to advise on any purchases, as well as showing offerings for ammo and guns that would save me an extra buck or two.

They beat the prices around the area and will generally price match stores in the local area (however usually not necessary since they have the best prices most of the time).

Used to go to Ammo Depot but this place has them beat at every step.

Mixed bag, maybe declining
Pros
  • Generally nice staff
  • Quick with ppt
  • I can walk there
Cons
  • Quality of inventory is all over the place
  • Pricey
I've pptd two guns there over the years, no appointment needed, in and out in under 30 minutes. Easy enough an no hassle for pickup etc.

Staff is nice, nothing sketchy, not fuddy.

However, every time I go in there, it feels like theres a never ending going out of business sale. They used to have cooler stuff, and a neat c&r program, but honestly a lot of the higher end stuff seems to have tapered off and they're not doing sse pistol receivers any more I guess?

Final thoughts, if you want run of the mill handguns or a convenient place to grab some AR parts, you can do a lot worse.

Had an absolutely asstastic experience here back in the fall. Was ppting a handgun that came with factory 10 round magazines. Guy helping me was helpful, another employee came over and decided that he didn't like how big the magazines looked, and decided to force an 11th round in by mortaring it in with a maglula on the counter and trying to decline the ppt. Had to tell him to go get the manager and had to have a long ass discussion about customer service and whether his employee attempting to do illegal things to my property was something I wanted to deal with in the future. Also their pickup policies are laughably draconian.

This is just a review of their ffl, their range is a whole other issue. Since target masters closed they've absorbed all of the rental crowd, and quite frankly any weekend there is a 💩show. Afternoons on the weekdays aren't bad, but the range is beat up and outdated, and the owners just don't care because they're a monopoly

Super friendly FFL
Pros
  • Convenient location
  • Private area
  • Punctual
  • Organized
  • Fair Pricing
Cons
  • None
Started going to Loc after I took one of his pistol classes last fall. Used him to transfer some gunbroker purchases as well as a stripped lower. Super easy to schedule with, and fair prices. Every time I'm there I'm in and out in 15 minutes tops with no bull💩 or paperwork errors. Even let's me know how to ship ammo in and transfer on the same background check.

No thrills indoor range with great accessibility in the SF Bay Area region
Pros
  • Full service range from sales, training, rentals and repairs
  • Extensive inventory for any firearms related activity
  • Perfect location for anyone that works near Santa Clara
Cons
  • Range safety/enforcement can be improved
  • No on demand training
  • Not as many offerings for the range experience other than moving past a flat range
Reed's provides an all in one service for anything firearms related. You can go from knowing nothing to shooting your first shots at this range. The instructors that they host at this range have extensive experience with beginners.
Some cons:
1. Range safety/enforcement. There are times when I think there should be more of an employee presence on the range to enforce range rules, promote more safety, and deter bad behavior. In all the years I've been to this range, I've never felt like I needed a bulletproof vest so I do feel relatively safe on the range most days.
2. Their training isn't on demand. Having an on demand instructor would be a great boost to the range experience and can open up potential firearm sales.
3. Range experience. Wish they would offer steel target shooting to enhance the shooting experience.

Exceptional small business
Tommy is extremely supportive of the community without being a complete weirdo shoehorning politics to every conversation.

80 dollar fee for online transfers, and only the dollar background check for ammo transfers makes me shill for moreauworks to everyone who asks what gunsmith/dealer to go to. His ammo prices are fair to great.

Ive heard through the grapevine he subcontracts or something for other gunsmiths around socal with cerakotes and machining.

Best Sac Range
Pros
  • rapid fire allowed
  • friendly employees
  • clean environment
  • many lanes
  • birdshot allowed at 50yd
Cons
  • long wait weekends
  • pricey ammo
Amazing range with amazing employees! You can rapid fire with absolutely no issues, but you have to make sure you only unpack your gun at the actual lane. The membership is an affordable and great way to shoot if you go often and/or want to try a few rentals for much cheaper. Lots of lanes in a clean environment in a clean neighborhood makes this range feel so professional!

Great option in the East Bay
Pros
  • PPT Friendly
  • Great prices on transfers
  • Friendly and knowledgeable
  • Quick and efficient
This is my go to FFL in the East Bay. They are great for ammo and gun transfers, and has the best prices on those transfers I have seen in the Bay Area.

While it is a small shop you can always order many types of firearms from them, and the prices match or beat Sportmans.

I find Zach to be quick and efficient with transactions, typically can get in and out for a purchase or transfer. No appointments on time limits for PPTs.

Overall a highly recommended FFL

Ppt friendly
Pros
  • Ppt friendly
  • Good prices
  • Nice folks
  • $50 incoming firearm transfer fee; cheap
  • Plenty parking in nice location
Cons
  • Small shop with small on hand inventory, what you see is what you get, probably need to ask them to order it or you incoming transfer it in
Came here for a ppt during calguns itrader days, pre-Caguns. Nice and efficient guy who helped me wasn’t Zach even though I read good things about Zach on Yelp. Ended up buying a in store inventory sig m18 p320, was interested in the gun since I never owned a sig, and also thought it would be good ppt etiquette. It was a good price then when the price increased at different stores compared to when they first released on the roster. Glaser still had it at the lower price; ahh might as well buy it now, they are helping us with the ppt anyways. However, I had to buy the one in the display case; there wasn’t one in the back. Learned that their incoming transfer fee for firearms are only $50; that’s cheap for a shop in the Bay Area while other store fronts are charging anywhere from $100-$125-$150.

Anyways, after ten days, ended up leaving with two pistols; ppt pistol and my first sig pistol ever, along with some store bought accessories.

Ppt friendly
Pros
  • Ppt friendly
  • Taqueria next door if you are hungry and also thirsty for horchatas
  • Parking available in small parking lot
I have done 3 ppt’s there and all were walk-in’s; calguns days (before finding about Caguns.net). Great folks there, no hassle, don’t charge storage fee for not picking up after the 10th/11th day. It helps to go on a weekday morning or noon besides Friday for ppt; have tried Friday morning/noon and it can be busy. Made sure to buy cleaning supplies, ammo, and accessories as ppt etiquette; didn’t need any store inventory guns at the time.

Pros
  • Easy PPT
  • Friendly Staff
  • Fast paperwork
  • SSE 2.0 and AR Pistol friendly
Cons
  • A bit pricey (to be fair typical of most LGS)
  • Price gouged during the pandemic
I'm conflicted. On one hand, the staff is friendly, they're organized, they're quick with the paperwork, and they're SSE and AR Pistol friendly. On the other hand, like most LGS their prices a higher than the big box stores, and they also priced gouged like a mofo during the pandemic (upwards of $1500 for a basic Gen3 Glock). Admittedly, that type of business practice probably isn't going to affect a customer's experience today, but it does give me pause when I think about whether I want to support that type of business.

Great place to meet halfway between Sac and SF
Pros
  • Fast
  • Professional
  • Nice shop
  • Location
So fast might as well be a drive-through.

This place is also an awesome meeting spot for meeting roughly halfway for Sac/SF transactions.

The guy who runs it, Zach, is friendly.

Pros
  • $77.81 Transfer Fee
  • Buy an optic get your slide cut for free
  • Price match local stores
  • Magazine Blocking
  • 5% off + Target Sports USA free shipping w/ LCP Membership
  • Will DROS SSE's
Ricky (Owner), Adam, Moss, Errol, Cody, and the gang are a bunch of friendly, competent guys that will take good care of you. I've bought may last 8 guns from them now. Best prices around, and if not they'll be close and match other local stores. I buy full capacity magazines through them and they block them for me. Their Loyal Customer Program is great, a $100 membership gets you 5% all purchases plus you can order from Target Sports USA and pay no shipping or transfer fees. The way I buy the LCP pays for itself several times over. They earned my business, give them a shot if you're in the area or passing by on the way up to Tahoe.
