Hey everyone, I just posted a quick video showing exactly how to convert a Glock 22 (.40 S&W) over to a Glock 17 (9mm) the right way, with all OEM parts.

Especially handy for us here in CA right now since Glocks have become a hot commodity!

I cover how to:

-Swap in a 9mm ejector (instead of the .40 version)
-Install a complete Glock 17 slide
-Use the correct 9mm magazines
-Confirm frame and part compatibility (works across Gen 3/4/5)
-It’s a straightforward process and doesn’t require any special tools or a gunsmith.

Also applies to Glock 19/23, 26/27 and 34 conversions.

Yes, I'm aware of the aftermarket conversion barrels, but that is not an OEM barrel, this guide uses all OEM parts, which have some of the highest proven reliability of any platform out there. I tried the lone wolf barrel and it was hit or miss with feed reliability.

If you don’t feel like watching, here’s the quick summary:

Verify the firearm is clear. Field Strip as normal. Replace the .40 ejector with a 9mm ejector. Reassemble as normal. Install a complete Glock 17 slide. Use 9mm mags, done.

Since Glock has stopped making 40's is there any reason that wouldn't work in reverse to make a 17 a 22 or a 19 into a 23?

The opposite also works exactly the same! You can also do this with the .357 Sig Slides/barrels etc. I already saw someone slap a Gen 5 Glock 23 slide onto a Gen 6 frame!
