I picked up an Osight SE recently to see if this sub-$200 enclosed optic could really hang with the big names like Holosun and Trijicon. Osight remind me of Holosun years ago when they came out, disrupting the industry.
After my first range session, here’s what I found:
Price: well under $200 Footprint: RMSC – fits Glock 43X/48 MOSm P365 and similar platforms
Reticles: dot, circle-dot, or circle only
Battery: 1620, side tray, 50,000-hour life, auto-off
Glass: surprisingly clear, less blue tint than most competitors (like Holosun EPS). Bigger window than the competition as well.
Reticle quality: sharper and more consistent than my Holosun (to my eyes)
Performance: 250+ rounds, zero issues, zero maintained, no flicker or reticle distortion
Ammo used: reloads, Magtech 124gr, and Speer Gold Dot +P
The packaging is well thought out, packed very neatly, almost iPhone level. It includes a wide variety of screws to fit multiple different platforms, a tool similar to Holosun, instructions, etc. They did an incredible job here.
I also have the C & X models. I can't want to see if they come out with a full size closed emitter like the EPS, or even a mailbox style.
Verdict: For the money, the Osight SE is hard to beat. Reliable, crisp, and well-designed. Unless durability issues show up later, it’s easily one of the best budget enclosed emitters on the market right now. Shortshot Tony beat the heck out of one of these and it didn't falter. I buy these with my own $, so I won't be torture testing it, lol. By no means is this an end all be all test, just my thoughts after the first range session.
