AI just cost me $1k+… and I haven't even bought anything yet. 😂

I recently saw the TTI Sand Viper with the new solid FDE grip, and I thought, Man, that looks GOOD.

Naturally, that led to some Googling to see if I could get an FDE grip for my existing Sand Viper. Turns out, finding one by itself might be a little more complicated than I hoped since it doesn't looks like TTI is selling them. Knowing how they operate, they probably won't offer the new FDE grip by itself for sale. They want you to have to buy a whole other SV.

So, I decided to see what it would look like with a Cheely FDE grip.

Big mistake.

Now I have a picture of what my Sand Viper could look like, and apparently my brain has decided this may no longer optional. 🤦‍♂️

PSA: Don't use AI to visualize gun upgrades unless you're prepared to explain to your wallet why it suddenly an intervention.

Anyone running a Cheely grip on their 2011? They only have the Aggressive texture in stock right now. The other downside is that it does not appear they use the traditional 2011 style magwell, so I wouldn't be able to use this magwell with it (n).

Anyway, I thought it looked pretty awesome and being aluminum it would add a couple ounces of weight, so not a bad thing.

Here's the actual all tan/bronze SV for reference

Aren't the tti polymer grips made by mjd? Mjd makes tan grips and they are definitely cheaper than a cheely. I've tried an aggressive steel cheely e2 and it's definitely very aggressive, I found it too heavy though so switched to polymer. there's a big risk that the cheely won't just fit without blending to the outside of the grip but I don't know. But in that case you would need to blend it and then get it coated afterwards rather than getting it coated from factory. But look at the mjd as I'm fairly certain that's what tti already uses and your magwell would fit.

Haha I do this all the time. I do not have a visual brain at all so I always AI stuff so I can have an idea of what it will look like. Just did it last night with a zadik precision thumb rest on my Athena.

Holy 💩 that looks good

Ran a Cheely grip for years. Love them. I would recommend the E2 grip with pinned safety. They also offer their own magwells

I searched high and low for pics of my CZ in the right cerakote but couldn't get close. Put a prompt in Gemini and it spat out the results in 30 seconds. Like you it will cost me money.
