Implemented Any thoughts on making a Price Check section?

I have seen the thread about lowballing and such and have a couple items I am thinking about parting with but honestly don't know what to price them at. Any thoughts on making a post or section for price checks? Would be a good idea to see what people are willing to pay or think something is worth.

Not sure about a whole section. But maybe a thread? Honestly price transparency is one of my biggest gripes of the Calguns Marketplace, especially with the off-rosters. I wish they adopted the GAFS policy of not allowing sellers to delete price from their adds. I genuinely believe this would bring down some volatility in used gun prices.

With all the deleted prices/posts, it's not easy to get a current market value on items. What I'm doing is PMing each seller, and asking how much they actually sold for. And from there averaging to get an idea of what something's worth. But I think most people are just looking at the current active adds that haven't sold yet. It's not uncommon for some sellers to just overvalue something and just keeping bumping until someone bites.

I would love to see on CAGuns too

When I sell guns and gun related stuff I take into account:
-what I paid for it (out the door)
-MSRP
-how much I invested in parts or whatever
-the condition
-how much i shot it

I glance at gunbroker and true gun value to give me an idea.

I haven’t sold an off roster gun but have sold rifles and am currently selling 2 here in CAguns.

A sig MPX PCC carbine and Kalashnikov kp9.

The kp9 is going for about $1,000 but I’m selling mine for $1,600 because of all the extra parts and mags and the very low round count.

The MPX is going for about $1,800 and I’m selling it at $2,000.

Of course I bump it above what I would pay because I know it’s going to go into negotiations. So I start high to end up where I want to be. Also always open to trades and I would trade anything (bows, guns, gold, silver, watches, etc) as long as it’s of comparable value.

Finally, I always provide links, where the PPT will take place (and link) and most importantly, the reason why I’m selling it.

Yeah that applies to more readily available things. What about C&R, or niche things that gets challenging. Same with parts for example I have a random gunshow AR pistol upper kit in pieces. No idea what to value that at lol.
