AR Buffer Systems

I’ve seen some buzz over buffer systems recently and was wondering if people with better knowledge than me could explain. I see a lot of people who love the A5 buffer and many that hate it. I’m currently building an AR pistol and was wondering if the A5 is a good choice or if the super 42 with H2 buffer is better?

For reference I am building a BCM 11.5 BFH MK2.

The super 42 is just a spring, the a5 does something subtle but I run JP scs on all my ARs. I would get an H1 and an adjustable gas block, bcm barrels are known for being overgassed

A5 system is longer than carbine tube. Last thing you'd want on a pistol. Agree with an Adj gas block but an H2 buffer.

A5 is just an AR-10 buffer system.

I run JP silent captured springs on all my ARs. H2 with adjustable gas block.

I have one A5 system on a 20” AR. Ended up putting a silent captured spring in that too.

Once you delete that spring noise it’s hard to turn back

I just use the whatever comes on the standard carbine weight one, I tune it using the gas block vs messing with the buffer. I suggested a slightly heavier on here just because the shorter gas length on a 11.5 will be more punchy and violent.

I’ve only ever used the weights and gas block to tune. The springs are probably for fine tuning suppressed rigs

First thing he is gonna want on a pistol. We all know he is gonna shoulder it with a stock (I mean brace) and longer is better. Nobody wants pistol tubes on pistols anymore - they are too short to shoulder.
