Also paying 1500-1800 for a g45 cuz it’s the “tacticool” model, but those same people say the g17 is too large and would spit on your for carrying it, and also say the g19 obsolete and too common. Theyre favorite influencer said they need a g45 but they’ll put a ramjet on it and make it as big as a 17 anyway.

Genuinely happy for your come up, but you said it yourself. They "think" they're getting a deal. Hell its a free country nobody's stopping them but you're not going to convince anyone with even half a brain that paying 3x msrp for a glock is a deal brother.

If my S&Ws (BG 2.0, Shield X) don’t give me reliability like my Glocks do, I’ll start watching for a 48 or 43x again. But not at current prices. I really like the simplicity and reliability of a Glock, but not at $1500+.

I could see 800-900, just because of the trust and familiarity, maybe more if the condition and accessories were right. But I recognize that it’s a politically inflated price that’s nothing more than politicians pulling strings for progressive credentials..

My new sponsor told me "Dude don't worry about what other guys on the internet say you should spend. You have the kwon, you wanted it, and you got it. The alternative would be to move to one of those flyover states where people make half as much, have limited cuisine, marry their cousins, have horrible weather, no shopping, and no cultural activities. But they can buy guns cheaper. If we stay in California we have two choices: pay a premium to get what we want, or go online and gnash our teeth about how stupid the other people are.

This is my take on it as well. Every single hobby goes through this cycle of calling people stupid for paying premiums on items that are in short supply. The same thing happened in the video card market during the COVID crypto boom when gamers were competing with ETH miners and scalpers were taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities. The gaming communities were calling people stupid for paying those premiums as it incentivized scalpers to keep scalping.

In this case, while there are viable rostered alternatives, if someone specifically wants a Glock 43x for whatever reason and they are willing to pay the premium, it isn't anyone's business what they do with their money. Also, the premiums incentivize people to bring off roster guns into our market that otherwise would not be imported.
