The wealthy in the EU don't use their government supplied health care. They fly to America and pay cash for the best in the world.

No quotas, no wait list. The solution is to be successful.

Man, I work in crypto and let me tell you none of my teammates from Norway Scotland or Switzerland/Germany are flying to the United States for medical care most of them are trying to find ways to avoid coming to the US altogether due to the new privacy violations if you wish to enter for work.

A lot of the crypto conferences are going international now because half the attendees don’t want to subject themselves to the United States scrutiny just for the benefit of collaborating with colleagues. Even China is more reasonable for entry now.

For those who want to see what the US version of Universal Healthcare in the US is, please look at the VA healthcare system. Government hospitals, doctors, etc. All the efficiency of the DMV with all the warmth of the IRS. Some facilities are good, I'll grant that. But others? People are dying to get in!!

That how private insurance is too, I have kaiser I pay 150 a month, my employer pays 650 on top of that. I have had to report them to the state board several times for violating the state regulations on timely care. The VA system consistently ranks as good or better than private insurance. I know some doctors and nurses in the VA system and they actually prefer it because they can often treat patients without having to ask permission like they do with private insurance who will deny care based on their own insane metrics. Medicare can be exactly what we demand of it, if we simply cut out private insurance but kept everything else the same the only thing that would change would be we would pay less because we cut out the profit taking middle man. If you cheer when they cut medicare you get exactly what you deserve. There's no way most of us are coming up with an extra 1500 bucks a month in retirement just to pay for healthcare.

Universal health care is a misnomer. What people want is single payer. Literally the exact same hospital system we have now only without all the administrative overhead.
