Bad news for the P211 for CA

I don't know how that particular comp is attached but the rules are that it has to be permanently attached which typically means more than a removable pin. It would likely need to be welded as well.

Considering you need to remove the comp to take the barrel out I don't see why this would be permanently attached.

and that's the problem with pin/welding a comp.. if law says it has to be, you gimp your and can't get the barrel out of the slide without power tools! i decided to port my barrel vs dealing with this madness as i don't own any pistols that can take a Radian Ramjet/Afterburner or I would have gone with those

The P211 design would work like this. A pin/weld would still allow you to remove the barrel.

Wondering if the Fusion XP Comp will be affected. Not sure how the compensator attaches but it seems that anything with a comp that is not permanently attached might be affected. CA is hell bent on limiting our choices.

Reason why I didn't buy it good price but I would've bought if they milled the comp on the barrel.

Scott may have had a conversation but they have not announced anything on this topic. In fact, there is no publicly available formal CADOJ determination letter or information bulletin specifically naming the Canik Prime Radian as an assault weapon. Or the Radian Ramjet etc.

Let's post verifiable information about stuff like this. Probably important to say out loud that the roster (Unsafe Handgun Act, PC 32000) and an assault weapon determination (PC 30515) are two completely separate legal tracks. Both have documentation.

For an AW determination, CADOJ's typical mechanism is an Information Bulletin published to FFLs and law enforcement through the Bureau of Firearms. Dealers are notified and seizures will happen at the FFL level (like the TTI), which is exactly how that enforcement chain works. A formal published bulletin would appear on the CADOJ Information Bulletins page under the DLE series. This forces a more deliberate wide reaching response.

The absence of a DLE bulletin doesn't mean CADOJ hasn't made a determination — it may just mean they haven't chosen to formalize or publicize it (yet). This is where Scott may have real information. But, for now, it doesn't seem wide spread or verifiable across the FFL network. The example in this thread around the P211 is, while Route66 has taken an approach of Buybacks etc, LAGuns continues to sell them on consignment along with other FFLs.

We'll see but reason some places sell P211 on consignment but if caught they'll likely get in trouble. Plus p211 can be pin and welded.

I mean, they are out there. Not hard to find them. Its not like this is happening out of a trunk in the bad parts of Oakland.

All that said, as you mention (and I did in an earlier post) the P211 can be blind pinned with a welded head and it would seem to demonstrate permanence under the current definitions. Moreover, it would function and still allow removal of the barrel from the slide. Given you can take a non-compliant rifle and make it compliant for use in CA, it would seem like this would be a logical route to meet the requirements.
