BRN-180 Gen 3 Discussion

Emphasis on the price difference. 1200 is just.......ouch.
 
As the owner of a Gen2, I'm...kinda underwhelmed. Sure, a non-reciprocating charging handle on the left makes more sense for right handed shooters...but the whole reason I'm buying a BRN-180 is because I want something like an AR-180. The ability to switch switch between settings for suppressed and non-suppressed shooting is cool...except here in CA it's pointless. And the price...oof. I picked up my upper for $860.

At this rate in a couple more generations it'll probably "modernize" into a milspec AR15.

Actually, what I fear is that Brownells plans on leaning more into this direction. The BRN-180 subreddit is filled with people disliking the change due to how different and modernized the gun feels. However, on insta I see people now displaying MORE interest into this gun platform now that it looks like one of those "cooler" guns. Given how some were even willing to fork over the hilariously steep price tag, I don't think Brownells plans on going back. It's a shame really.
 
I have a Gen 1 18" upper.

Still runs

Keeping it as the 18" is no longer available.
