CA AR pistol

I want to build out a AR pistol. But I am not sure what is the best way to go about it. Would getting the CA JT ar 15 pistol and putting my desired upper and brace put on be the best way or getting an other or pistol lower and building from there.

CA JT is made from 6061 billet. On the other hand, something like Franklin Armory CA7 is forged 7075.

So what people don't know, but the continuous removing and resticking the rear takedown pin over and over again does have an effect to the rear takedown hole of the JT receivers. Some tight fitting takedown pins will remove/shave off material, most might disregard as dust or debris.

Takedown pin is steel. 6061 billet is the cheapest, and weakest aluminum used as receiver material next to polymer.

I suggest no JT for longetivity, durability, and less chance of catastrophic failure.

Plenty of affordable AR pistols like a CA7 in the classifieds, cheaper, better quality/brand names, pay no taxes, and in the end you'll be replacing many parts to fit your style.

Riflegear had that LMT pistol lower for $499.99 (plus SSE fees, etc.) but sold out in minutes...grrrrr

I have a Sig rattler semi auto pistol on a brand new aero lower I will probably be uploading in the next few days if you don’t want to build one out but it is pricey

Went with JT for 9mm and ready to go mostly. I love mine and I would shoot it way more if wasn't mag locked.

“Other” lowers can’t be made into an AR pistol. You need SSE lowers for AR pistols. If you are in the Bay, Solar Tactical or Manzano can do it for you, maybe others can chime in for FFL07s that do in SoCal.

In SoCal 2AZone will build a SSE ARP for you using a lower of your choosing. You'll pay the SSE fee along with a small amount for the single shot upper.

They have complete SSE pistol lowers for $399. When I bought mine from them, they were built on Anderson lowers. They work great.

My JT lowers have been great tbh. I get what you’re saying, but it still is treated to a T6 hardness. I guess after running mine a few more years I’ll see if it makes a difference, but so far no wear or play.

I bet if i take your JT and remove the rear takedown pin and re-insert 10 times in front if you, I can show you the speckles of dust otherwise known as flakes of material at the rear takedown hole.

Pushed the pin through way more times than that, so far nothing. I do not use the hellfire pin though.
