any gun that I don't have standard capacity mags ( over 10 rds) is not an option. so pretty irrelevant on my end. I do LOVE the platypus

Yeah like I said pertaining to performance "in my own opinion". And just because a certain 2011 is double the price of another 2011, doesn't mean it is double the performance. Ran them in USPSA and SCSA and GTO is better imo than my Artemis. Quality wise and build wise, Atlas is king. But GTO is par with XC quality build.

I don't think that's surprising. One is naturally aspired and half a pound lighter and the other is comped and half a pound heavier apples-to-apples. I love Atlases and have owned every model but 1 over the years, but it's not like they have some special sauce that allows them to overcome physics. Also, it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison as the GTO wouldn't qualify for use in LO where the Artemis slots in comfortably in terms of divisional ruleset.

Now, if you were trying to compare an Atlas Hades or Erebus (with brass grip panels and a large magwell) that would be a closer comparison featureset wise. I'd say the Erebus is similar and up to the shooter's preference, the Hades is not as soft as either, but is significantly quicker to return, easier to transition, and almost as soft.

Off topic - Penal code says lugged and threaded barrels are a no go so wouldn’t the radian be off limits too ??

I think there is a "cam" the shadow systems index pin seems to be the way to go.
