Does anyone know gunsmiths or shops in NorCal Bay Area or 559 that are experienced with installing the CGW Pro Package? Need it installed on my Shadow 2. Thanks

I know it doesn't answer your question... But have you thought about doing it yourself? I was in the same situation awhile back and ended up doing it myself. Polished all internals along the way. A bit tedious with the small parts but I wouldn't say it was particularly difficult.

Really... I am also looking for a good gunsmith, as I have a CZ P-01 (decocker) and I read the decockers are difficult. I would love to be able to do it myself. More research is needed for me.

Sagisi Customs. Ryan does the installs and internal polishing. He did most of my CZ's and I believe he still does the cerakoting for Cajun Gun Works. Highly recommend.

I sent him an email, he’s close by, thank you for the recommendation!

Just watch a few videos, more than once if needed. It does look intimidating at first, but then becomes clear.
Best video on decocker sear cage I’ve seen. Used my self

Mcarbo has a good video tutorial for everything else

I would 2nd to suggestion to look into doing it yourself. Shadow 2 isn’t very hard to work on. I found these 3 tutorials were everything I needed to get work done myself on CZ model with safety

everyone has their own comfort levels but CZs are pretty straightforward. The reason I work on my guns and encourage others to is then if something goes wrong you have a much better chance of being able to fix it. The cajun parts are pretty much drop in, it's not like a 1911/2011 where you will be fitting things and changing the angle on the sear (unless you do a safety, then you do have to do some minor fitting).

Mine was pretty low, I haven’t worked on guns prior to taking on CZ SP-01. The reason I even started I was so frustrated waiting for my 97b to be shipped back from CGW (had them to do 1911 style bushing and SAO conversions)
I installed pro package on SP-01, converted 75b to SAO and replaced triggers on P-01 and PCR to CGW with reach reduction kits, all with some polishing.
And still waited on my 97 :).
After that installation of LTTs TJIB was a breeze, so was complete disassembly of Platypus for DLC coating. Havent tried to fit parts to 2011s yet, but that may change soon. Have RCD core jailed as we speak

Nice! I expect the only thing you will need to fit on that is an Atlas safety, they are so nice as they have a much bigger platform and also sit at a higher angle so your thumb doesn't have to bend as far. Check out Engineer's Armory on youtube he's put out videos on how to fit every 2011 part and how they all work. Atlas also has some good stuff on extractor tuning. Extractors are the one thing you gotta pay attention to and can cause the most issues on the 1911 platform but if you know how to fit one and tension it properly and how they work you can have a very reliable pistol. It should be good out of the box but you can test the tension very easily.

I agree with other posts, try it yourself. The first thing I ever did on a firearm is install the CGW pro package on my CZ 75 compact. Did 2 more pro packages after that. It gave me the confidence to try anything. The only difficult part for me was figuring out what parts went where. I have a YouTube video I made on where the parts go.

Unfortunately I’m pretty heavy handed and can get frustrated - I don’t want to risk damaging the firearm. I’d rather pay a professional.

I hear you, guilty of not being most patient person myself :)

Haha yeah

Plus these are for competitive use, and I don’t want to show up to a USPSA match with a gun that’s mostly modded correctly, but not completely correct…

I'm the same way and can go from zero to a hundred in being POed in a split second if things don't go right. I have done several kits and parts replacement on mine and friends CZs. I learned quickly to take a break when things are not going easily. My first pro kit was on my 97b and took roughly four hours to do but that was because I was going step by step and kept looking at YouTube vids to get it right. That was about five or six years ago and I still have the 97 even though it's a 9mm right now. All you need is a few basic tools and a little patience and once you get the hang of it you find yourself working on all your CZs. I now find it somewhat calming when I work on my CZs because I leave the world behind and do something full filling. I now own 19 CZs and I think only two are in stock form but still have aftermarket parts in them. I enjoy building crazy CZ combos like my 97b that I put a CZC Bull Shadow upper on making it shoot 9mm. I have about three other 75 frame guns with Bull Shadow uppers on and five 75 frames with Tac Sport uppers on. As for possibly damaging your gun it will either work or not but shouldn't get damaged. Whenever I'm changing parts I always use snap caps to make sure things function correctly before going to the range for live fire testing. And when I do live fire testing it's one in the mag if it goes bang with no problems then it's two then three and after that I let her rip. Just watch a few vids by different people and take your time you'll do fine.

For my Shadow 2 I have the kit, the polishing blocks and compounds, watched videos and ready to go.

But I also have too many other projects 😮‍💨

Probably just going to pay someone to do it and maybe pickup an SP-01 down the line.

Nor or Socal? I do enjoy working on CZs.

I do all types of trigger/spring kit installations in the greater los angeles area.
Work is done while you wait so it's only one visit.

that's exactly why I don't use gunsmiths, how would you know they do it right and how would you fix it? No shade to the ones that do good work, the ones that post here get glowing reviews. It's just my personal philosophy. For instance I recently installed a cajun kit on a CZ and 1000 rounds in it was failing to reset (of course during an all classifier match....) a quick google search and 5 minutes at the safe table and it just took setting the trigger bar spring to the right tension. It was something I checked when I installed the parts but for whatever reason was out of spec after 1000 rounds. I naturally just want to know how things work though, and if you don't I get why you would want to just pay someone to do it. But the CZ can have like 3 things that go wrong with it and they can all be fixed at the safe table if you have a few spare parts.

I just did this install for the very first time today on a SP-01 manual safety. I was hesitant to ship the gun and didn't want to take a chance with a gunsmith who may not be as patient as I am. I took me about 4 hours from start to finish.

So I bought all the parts from shooters connection (you have to piece the Pro package together yourself):

I bought these tools (I already had a hammer, basic punch set and small hand tools - a pick or small screwdriver is really helpful):

I followed these two videos:

My takeaways:
Re-assembling the sear cage was really easy following the tutorial above.
The hammer pins came out easy enough using that block on my desk. To install the new hammer pins I placed the hammer on my garage floor, held the hammer down with one hand and tapped the pins with the hammer. When the pins got almost flush I switched to the SP punch in the amazon kit. Went pretty easy.
Take your time and it's pretty easy honestly.
I didn't do any polishing. I figure I'll shoot the gun a bunch and it'll polish itself.
The trigger feels amazing, the SA reset is the biggest improvement. Will live fire it next week hopefully.

another trick on the hammer pins is using a vice to squish it in, but yeah not bad at all.
