CMMG Statement Regarding LE Sales to States With LE Exemptions

As someone that's got family that have served in the Armed Forces on several deployments, it's utterly wild that LE has more privileges than they did while on active duty.
 
I don’t think Nanny States like California care. They only offer LE exemptions to their anti-2A laws to gain the support of police unions and leadership organizations. It helps garner the broader support of an unwitting populace that believes anything that law enforcement organizations support must be in the public’s best interest. But if enough companies take the same stance as CMMG, police unions and leadership organizations might stop supporting Democrat gun control measures that only serve to make good people helpless while doing nothing to make bad people harmless.

All shops should have such a “2A for All” declaration. Simplifies things on their end and is absolutely the right thing to do. There should be a informal group that gives those shops a “2A4A” seal to display (like those “visa accepted” logos) so that consumers can prefer shops with such a stated policy.

Good for CMMG. Anti-gun politicians work out exemptions for various groups in order to avoid strong opposition to their "gun control", e.g. civilian disarmament agenda. If most firearms manufacturers treated everyone the same, it would make it much harder for Anti 2A politicians to pass sweeping restrictions or "sin" taxes. However, that would mean revenue losses for firearms manufacturers so it's not likely to be picked up nationwide, in my opinion.
 
CMMG was one of the first to ship OLLs (Off List Lowers) to CA back in the day (I have one) when most manufacturers wouldn’t.
 
The sad part is its nice to see the statement but nothing will change. Its not like CMMG was ever a heavy supplier to Law Enforcement.
Even if a Brand like Glock was like, no guns or mags to CA period until these rules are changed. There will just be some greedy out of state dealer who will broker the deal like what happened with Barrett.

Even if all the major brands held fast and together some no name brand will jump in.
You have a better chance at getting dealers in CA to just say no to transferring everything a civilian can't buy... but you will just see more and more LEO only dealers pop up.

Its sad.

I'm pretty sure they ship to California, they have the AB1263 system in place where you provide your ID. They ship uppers and barrels to your FFL per SB704.

What they're saying is they won't sell to LE in states that require separate rules for citizens.
 
For all those who say that nothing will change, just remember that no raindrop thinks they're responsible for the flood, either. Will it change everything? Of course not. Will it be a start? Absolutely. If enough vendors to police and sheriff's departments hold off on allowing them to purchase, the unions (to which the politician's election campaigns are beholding to) will eventually demand exemptions so they too can get the guns they want. Suddenly something appears on the Roster? Why, how did that happen, right at the same time that city XXX's handgun contract was up for renewal?
 
I'm going to take the contrary viewpoint. I think that not selling AW's to law enforcement does absolutely nothing for the cause, is a waste of time, and is a bad look overall. As much as people want to link the issues to discriminating against California residents and LE having "unfair priviledges, the reality is this is what the Left wants. I brough up the issue to my extreme 🍌 defund the police family members, and they agreed immediately. They don't want law enforecement having military style rifes, hi capacity magazines, or even guns at all. They want us to follow England and have the majority of our officers go without firearms. They also feel tasers aren't ok either (but weren't sure what a good alternative was when I asked them if it was ok to beat people with a stick instead).

CMMG reminds me of the holier then thou sellers on Gunbroker.com that won't sell to California unless we can "change our laws." They aren't supporting us; they are playing right into the hands of the gun grabbers.

Nothing for the cause? What if the Democrats’ current gun control course continues unabated, and only the military and the police end up being allowed to have guns in California? Would you be okay with that?

I saw a movie once where only the military and the police had guns. It was called “Schindler’s List.”
