Question Consignment stores LA/OC area?

Thought I'd share my short list of experiences with consignment in the LA/OC area. Didn't see a thread, would like to hear from others also

1. Turner's Chino Hills - called ahead and manager(?) asked me to come early morning to expedite process. Had a short wait, better than trying on a weekend afternoon 8/10
   
   
2. Turner's Signal Hill - friendly service for big box retail, haven't found a time when staff is not busy. Quote they gave me was typical Turner's pricing but it sold almost immediately after waiting period I guess 7/10

I never understood the point of consignments. It's like the worst of both worlds where you're buying a used gun but still paying taxes on it. I guess it might be a good way to find something rare? A lot of times I just see Glocks that are priced even higher than they are here, and the occasional race gun. But I'll be the first to admit I don't have an eye for uncommon or collector items.

I was at a local store and some guy came in with a clean Beretta 92FS. They offered him $250 to straight up buy it and not have to wait for consignment and he took it.

Guns LA in Burbank is basically a consignment shop. The majority of the inventory is consignment.

There are certainly many consignment items that are just run-of-the-mill and overpriced.

But I’ve found all sorts of interesting items on consignment and at nice prices. HK USP Elite, S&W 2206, HK VP70 Z, many C&R pistols etc.

If the consignee retains ownership during the consignment, then the transfer is considered a PPT, so the roster doesn’t apply.
