Personally I don't find much value in these posts. If he found it was "around" 1400 on his own, just list it and if he gets no attraction lower the price. Let the market and the interest decide on its own.

For what it’s worth, the most I ever paid used for a DA/SA Sig was a P229 in .40 Cal and it was $1,000. It was older model so no LCI or mag disconnect but light rail. Came with 5 or 6 mags and like 750 rounds of ammo. I wanted this model in .357 Sig badly and it was a heck of a deal given all that it had. My used P226 was a Mark 24 (predecessor to the Mark 25) and I paid $600 for it; no LCI no mag disconnect.

As someone who moved here recently, and sorry, not selling my guns (except one full gift to my bro) I found this topic in general interesting. Topic, not thread specifically

When your coming “in”, you hear nothing but “bring x, y, z, it will be worth 2-3x, stock up!) then you get here and the folks that’s post are viewed as greedy hacks! Even I feel that way when I see these listing. $500 pistol, told $1500, settles for $900. It’s weird.

On the other hand, they are bringing you stuff you can’t buy otherwise, so…

Kinda why I’m not selling my stuff. I’m sorry, one of my $500 pistols that I cant replace here, is not leaving my position for a mear $1k. Especially considering the effort to sell it takes away even more of the profit.

Trade value is more interesting to me if down the road there is something I want, it gives me good options for 1:1 trading.

Now when the time comes to leave the state, (5 years or never not sure yet). It is probably my civic duty to fire sale everything at out of state replacement cost as a public service to my fellow Californians. I’ll just re-buy in the new state.

This actually shows you the law is working though. The guy was arrested for breaking the law and got his pension cancelled. You can't point to abuse as the reason why. There's way more LEO that do it in a responsible way than these cases.

The LEO i know are afraid of exactly this scenario. Theres a record that's easily auditable to track abuse.

People aren’t upset about new residents profiting off their off roster models they brought with them. It’s the exempt people here that buy desirable models just to flip.

Though they did get cracked down on. So you don’t see too much flipping like that anymore I feel.

Yes, much more in the 2000's 2010's, not lately. No one wants to lose their pension for $1-2k extra a year. Cops these days make a lot.

Realistic transaction price is probably $800-$900 because the market for a single stack 45 that’s not optic ready is quite limited. Some times people don’t realize that not all off roster guns call for a premium.

California values will usually run a bit higher that’s why I just use to put me in the ballpark. Work ok with on roster searches too. For example, if u search p320 California under pistol, the lowest sold is around 400 and the highest at 600
