Here's a quick write-up on a simple Glock 27 → Glock 26 swap. I know this is not new info for many of you, but there are still many folks out there that don't know these simple Glock caliber swaps are a thing! If you're out hunting Glocks and run across any of the 9mm/.40/.357 Sig Glocks, just know you can swap these calibers at will!
The companion video to this one is the one that earned a strike for my channel on youtube and shut me down for a week. They seem to not want actually helpful content when it comes to working on firearms, just reviews of products. For whatever reason they let this one stay on the channel, so I'm sharing it.
No frame modification required, just parts swap with all OEM parts.
Steps:
• Ensure firearm is unloaded then field-strip.
• Remove rear (trigger housing) pin and access the ejector by lifting the trigger housing. The .40 ejector is almost straight; the 9mm ejector has a slight curve.
• Use a punch or small flathead to push the .40 ejector out; install the 9mm ejector and seat flush.
• Reinstall spring housing and rear pin. Frame is ready.
• Swap a complete 9mm slide (or use a 9mm conversion barrel and use 9mm extractor/ejector)+ 9mm clips for full reliability.
• Tools: Glock tool/or punch + small flathead.
• Quick, reversible, no permanent mods.
You can also go the Conversion barrel, extractor and ejector route. That requires an aftermarket barrel that is of different dimensions than any Glock OEM barrel, so I chose to do the full swap with all Glock OEM Parts for that Glock factory reliability.
