Do You Ever Reach Back Out to Past Sellers?

I was wondering if anyone here makes a habit of reaching out to people you’ve bought a gun (or other items) from in the past — just to check in, see how they’re doing, and maybe ask if they’re selling anything else.

I’ve had great luck with this. Some of my best guns and deals have come from touching base with past sellers. Since they already know I’m a good buyer, easy to deal with, and follow through on the transaction, they’re often more comfortable offering me a deal — or even letting go of something they’ve been on the fence about selling.

If you haven’t done this before, I’d say it’s worth brushing the dust off those old contacts and giving it a try. You never know what someone has sitting in the safe that they’ve been thinking about moving, and you might be the first to get the call.

So, what about you? Do you keep in touch with past sellers? Ever score a great deal that way?

Absolutely. Have made a couple of very good contacts for whom I’ve been a repeat buyer.

Yep. Been doing it with multiple pointy-elbowed, yoga pants-wearing CalGunners for years.

One of my best shotgun shooting buddies was a guy I met on CalGuns years ago that sold me some ammo.

I've actually done this for a previous buyer he reached out to me and asked if I had firearm x which I did and hadn't fired for a few years. So I ended up selling it and never planned on it.
