With this forum, can we have a rule that CA expats cannot, under any circumstances, post in threads anywhere else to extol the virtues of leaving CA, humble brag about the freedoms of action in their new state, or excoriate other members for not pulling up stakes and leaving?

As a new escapee, like the idea. Plan to continue supporting the fight in Ca. from Arkansas.

Before "bragging" is banned. No FSC. No 10 day wait. No CCW required in state. CCW $75 class. $48 fee. Good in 37 other states. Not Ca. even though AR recognized my Ca. CCW. PPT between you and buyer/seller. No roster. No magazine limits. Bought 4 guns and took them home within 2 hours of getting my AR license. No ammo background check. They actually laughed at that and thought I made it up.

That's just the gun stuff.

To be clear, I don’t begrudge anyone who has been able to leave CA…it isn’t what it was when, as an 21-year old, I arrived in 1972. The annoyance for me is when, during an open discussion of PPT (or other constraints on 2A in CA…CCW; cooling off period; etc.) some expat will drop a complete nonsequitor and waste-of-time comment that in their state they just strapup and carry. Or walk into a gun shop, show an ID, pay cash and walk out with a gun. It adds nothing to the discussion and doesn’t help resolve or define the CA requirements/solutions. It’s just meant to be a “SEE ME!” moment.

On the side, EBR did great things for SoCal firearms owners before they saw the limitations and left Newbury Park for Prescott, AZ. (If they’d been operating in the 70’s when I was over the hill in Camarillo, I would have been broke and homeless). But, without a beat, they immediately took on the role of middleman to assist in processing firearms to be legally imported into CA, and still offer that support.

It’s not banned, just keep it in this side where it makes sense. Rubbing it in people’s faces in a CA forum doesn’t make a lot of sense . We’re a place that likes common sense.

On the side, EBR did great things for SoCal firearms owners before they saw the limitations and left Newbury Park for Prescott, AZ.

This is one of the reasons I put in his request. He sold me my first AR and is one of CAguns earliest sponsors. I have a debt of gratitude. Probably doesn’t remember me, but I still remember going to his place back in the day in SoCal.
