First Impressions Shooting My New Staccato HD P4

I recently had the chance to shoot my new Staccato HD P4, and overall, it left a strong impression. The pistol feels well-balanced with a solid weight that helps with recoil management. After zeroing my sights, I found it to be accurate and consistent. I had seen a video beforehand mentioning a rattle in the gun, but that hasn’t been my experience—mine feels tight and well-fitted. It’s possible that the issue in the video was due to a defective or mishandled unit, but it’s something worth noting. If I had to rate it, I’d give it a 9 out of 10. The only drawback I’ve encountered so far is the mag release—it takes a bit of getting used to. On the positive side, the trigger is a standout feature: crisp, smooth, and very responsive. The overall build quality seems excellent, which aligns with what you’d expect from Staccato.

I haven’t tried the Glock magazines yet, but I do have them. I also have the Staccato magwell. I’ll definitely get back to you later today and let you know.

I had issues with the gun not going into lockback while using the stock Glock Magazines. It seemed to function better with the MecGar Magazines.

Man, the main reason I am thinking about this model Staccato is the prolific amount of cheap Glock mags out there.

I have zero issues ran about 200 rounds through my standard cap 17 mags. I didn't even use the Pmags it came with. Went straight to the bin. Love the gun. But same sentiment as op. Mag release a little hard to operate without adjusting your grip a little. I wear a size large glove.

I had issues with the gun not going into lockback while using the stock Glock Magazines. It seemed to function better with the MecGar Magazines.

I had the same issues with my mags (had these mags for 10 years), just changed the magazine springs and now it’s flawless.

I purchased the Dawson Precision Practical Advantage mag well and had issues with the 10rd PMAGs. They would get stuck and wouldn't drop, it also caused feeding issues, as I believe the mag wouldn't go in far enough. Glock mags fit and ran better.

The rattle is the plastic/delrin cylinder on the RSA. Not a big deal knowing it's there for a reason.

That rattle goes away as it gets dirty. Or you can put some CLP on it or your lube of choice.... no noise

Edit: Has nothing to do with a defective or mishandled pistol - you can verify that with Staccato directly (the "rattle")
