Hi All,
So, I bought a CZ TS2 from someone on the forum who ordered it new but in Olive Drab (OD) green. I thought I was buying a TS2 Racing Green but it was a TS2 made to look like a Racing Green (caveat emptor), but that's another story. I did look up the serial number beforehand and it came back as a TS2, but I thought CZ just had a coarse categorization. Turns out, the serial should come back specifically for a Racing Green or Orange if applicable. A base TS2 comes back as a TS2. Learn from my mistake!
Originally, the gun had an OD Green frame/slide with the Racing Green grips, magwell, and mag baseplates, which to this artist's eye is a crime against aesthetics.
I changed out the green grips, magwell, and trigger to brand new silver grips and magwell and a new Armory Craft black trigger I installed myself, and it was great to do my first trigger installation. I tested the gun at the range post-install and it worked perfectly. I listed the gun here for a reasonable amount (after coming down in price) and it just wasn't selling. I figured I'd get the slide and frame powdercoated in graphite black to improve the look, and maybe even throw the green grips/magwell back on (without listing it as a Racing Green, obviously).
I get to the Cerakote place and the guy offers to buy my gun, just under my asking price here. Well hell, he just saved me money (that I'd spend on Cerakoting) and some time as well. Worked out, and he's going to Cerakote the gun in some fun color, maybe green.
Ironic that I went to the Cerakote place to recolor the frame and slide in order to sell the gun more easily, only to have the Cerakote guy buy it.
Weirdly, I was hoping to see the graphite black with the green again, but I was also glad to have the issue solved in a way I didn't expect.
The gun shoots beautifully, so someone's going to be happy with it once the look is dialed-in. I only sold it because I found and bought a like-new TS2 Orange after I bought the TS2.
