Recently decided to tinker a bit and install the Gen 5 Glock Performance Trigger (GPT) into my Gen 3 Glock, which already has a Gen 5 slide that I fitted to it.
This isn’t breaking new ground—others have done it—but figured I’d share my experience in case anyone’s curious or considering the same setup.
Installation wasn’t overly complicated, but it did require a few mods:
Nothing too intense if you’re comfortable with Glock internals, but definitely not a straight drop-in.
Why do it?
Honestly? I saw the GPT at my LGS, got curious, and thought “What the heck—let’s give it a shot.” I’ve always liked mixing platforms and seeing what works.
So far, function checks are solid. I’ll get it out to the range soon and report back if anything noteworthy comes up.

- A little work on the trigger shoe as well
