Glock 26 vs. Sig P365 – Concealed Carry Comparison (my thoughts)

As a still somewhat recent owner of the P365 and having spent decades owning, shooting, carrying Glocks I wanted to share some thoughts on comparing the P365 (micro) to the Glock 26 one of the OG's in the sub-compact realm.

This comparison doesn't consider that you can swap the grip frame of the P365 around, it's a comparison of it as is to the G26.

For those like myself who may have thought "why would I need/want a P365" when you already have every Glock known to man?

TLDR, for those that would rather read about it than watch the video:

Size & Concealment

• P365 is noticeably thinner and lighter, making it easier to conceal for many folks.
• Glock 26 has a thicker grip, which may be better for shooters with larger hands, or men (I kid, I kid)

Capacity

• Both offer similar standard capacity (10+1), with the ability to use OEM extended magazines. Sig does a better job with OEM mag bases that fill the gap for longer clips.
• Both platforms support a wide range of aftermarket mags and baseplates. (just seeing if you're actually reading by using the word clips above )

Shooting Performance

• The Glock 26 feels softer shooting and quicker back on target, thanks to its heavier slide soaking up more recoil/muzzle flip.
• The P365 is still very controllable, but has a snappier feel due to its smaller & thinner frame.

Ergonomics

• P365 grip is compact, ideal for concealment but can feel small in the hand. I wear a size L glove for reference.
• Glock 26 offers a different grip profile that may feel more natural for medium/large+ hands.

Customization & Features

• P365 comes with a rail for lights/lasers, giving it the edge in stock features.
• Glock 26 benefits from the massive aftermarket and consistency with the rest of the Glock lineup.

Not Mentioned in the Video

• The G26 & all Glocks are much easier and more straightforward to work on.

Final Thoughts

• P365 → Best for maximum concealability with modern features right out of the box.
• Glock 26 → Best for Glock fans who value consistency, softer recoil, and deep aftermarket support.

Figured since I'm comparing the Sig to another Glock I'd keep it in the same thread!

P365 vs Glock 43X

TLDR for those that would rather read about it than watch the video:

Ran a direct comparison between Sig P365 and Glock 43X.

Concealability: Slight edge to the P365 (shorter OAL; similar width).

Capacity (OEM): P365 wins—multiple OEM mag sizes/capacities.

43X OEM is 10-rd. Recoil/Control: 43X feels a bit softer and quicker back on target.

Tested with/without an Omega comp; even without it, the Glock’s backstrap hump sits nicely in the palm.

Ergonomics: Hand-dependent. 43X backstrap shape works well for many; P365 is slimmer.

Customization: Both strong; P365 gets the nod for modular grip modules/frames.

Bottom line: Choose P365 for maximum concealability + OEM mag flexibility + modularity.

Choose 43X for slightly softer recoil + Glock ecosystem familiarity. Curious what others prefer for CCW between these two and why. (Video has shooting clips if you want to see the recoil difference.)

I carry my p365 95 percent of the time over my Glock 27 for the reasons mentioed.. weight being the biggest factor.

You can add a Hogue sleave to the 365 to make it more thicker grip.
But you can't make a G26 slimmer. That's an issue.

I mean, you can absolutely make the G26 much slimmer, but it would be a permanent modification. The P365 you can just find the right grip module. The Wilson is an easy choice as it's a good bit thicker without getting too crazy and are not very costly.

So many considerations, especially now that Glocks are going to be banned. My LTC has currently 43, 43X & 19 on it. May just wind up going to P365 and who knows what else as a result. Very frustrating since I've owned Glocks for 20+ years and have many tens of thousands of rounds through them.

The P365 is definitely one of those big time game changers since you can make it any size you want with the swap of a grip and a slide and about one minute of time. Need a deep concealment piece? Strip it down and go with the Micro grip module and you still get a more than respectable 10+1 in a similar size to the 43. Want a little more grip, move up to the X/XL with freedom week mags you have 12+1 (or 14+1 with magguts) in a size slightly larger than the 43, but still smaller than the 43X. Need more still? Move up to the Macro grip and get 17+1 with your freedom week Macro mags only a little longer grip than 43X and still much slimmer than the G26/19 etc. All that and it only takes up one slot on your permit. That said, I hear about the trigger return spring breaking on the P365 all over the place, so that definitely makes me think twice about it. You could swap it out on the fly, but I'd hate to have to do it in the middle of needing to use it to defend you or your families lives that would be less than ideal.
