Glock 43X Radian Ramjet vs. Icarus Omega Comps - Range Day Shootout!

One of the most requested comparisons for me so far since I started my channel!

I recently did a side-by-side comparison of the Radian Ramjet/Afterburner and the Icarus Precision Omega compensators on a Glock 43X, with the factory barrel included as a baseline.

Nothing scientific here, just a good ol range day comparison. I paid for both with my own $, so no bias here and no fluff.

TLDR for those that would rather read about it than watch the video:

Both comps are close in price ($349–$369 range), but after testing I found the Radian Ramjet edges out the Omega.

Here’s why:

Recoil/Muzzle Flip: The Ramjet showed slightly better muzzle flip reduction. The difference isn’t huge (maybe 5%), but it is noticeable.

Accuracy: The Omega had a small amount of play where the comp meets the barrel, which likely translated into slightly less accuracy at 25 yards. Again, not dramatic, but it's there.

Durability: My first Omega actually failed (cracked due to a heat-treat issue). The design has thin areas that don’t inspire confidence for a carry gun. If the comp breaks, the gun will most likely be rendered inoperable. The Ramjet, being thicker and sitting past the muzzle, would still leave you with a functional pistol even if the comp failed (most likely).

Ease of Install: The Omega wins here, it doesn’t require tools, while the Ramjet does.

Proven Track Record: The Ramjet has been around for Glock 19 and other platforms for a while, with lots of shooters putting thousands of rounds through them without issues.

Bottom line: Both reduce recoil, but the Ramjet is more robust, slightly more effective, and better proven. For such a small price difference, I’d recommend the Radian Ramjet over the Icarus Omega every time and twice on Sunday.

Radian Ramjet vs. Aim Surplus Just the Tip "JTT" Barrel

TLDR for those that would rather read about it than watch the video

Summary: Radian Ramjet vs Aim Surplus JTT on a Glock 43 I compared the high-end Radian Ramjet (with Afterburner) to the budget Aim Surplus JTT (Just The Tip) integrated compensator barrel, and included the factory Glock 43X barrel as a baseline.

Recoil / Muzzle Flip: The Ramjet is more effective at reducing muzzle flip, its ports are noticeably larger and more aggressive. That translates to a clearer reduction in perceived muzzle rise.

Value / Price: Huge gap, the JTT clocks in around $59, while Ramjets are often near $400. For the money, the JTT is excellent value.

Install & Practicality: The JTT is a simple drop-in (no cutting, no tools), making it an easy upgrade. The Ramjet is a bit more involved and more expensive.

Accuracy: Both performed similarly at practical distances (15–25 yards). No dramatic accuracy trade-offs observed for either.

Recommendation: If you want the most reduction and cost isn’t an issue, the Radian Ramjet is the top performer. If you want big value, simple installation, and reliable improvement over stock — Aim Surplus JTT is the smart pick.

Bottom line: Ramjet = best performance; JTT = best value.
