The a2 is a colt sporter2 but it’s a mix of a2 and a1. Lower is a smooth side upper is a2 with a1 sites. It’s an r6500 version.

I also have an armalite m15a2. I have quite a few colt mags 20 rounders with alm followers from back then

I too want an a1 version though I love the older versions don’t really care for the modern stuff the 10.5 is the only modern one I own. Have another lower together so might do a m4 style or an a1 finally.damn parts gone crazy in price though

From guys I talk too locally is that it’s great for a short barrel under 10.5. Say 7.5-10.5 is it’s sweet spot. Then the ability to be suppressed with subsonic loads.

I’ve seen one shot out of a bolt action gun suppressed and it was like an air gun. Very quiet. IMO don’t think I have a need for one but those reasons seem to be it’s main attraction here.
 
My younger Son (in Wisconsin) has a 10 inch barreled suppressed AR in 300 Blackout. Very quiet. No ear pro needed. Rapid fire does give you a face full of gas.

Range going Wednesday with S&W 41 and S&W 69. Opposite ends of the spectrum.
 
I finally got my PPSH project completed. Worked all the ejection issues out and parkerized it in manganese phosphate. It is a very fun shooter in 7.62x25.

This Ruger in 9mm is a heck of a lot of fun on steel at 50 yds. The red dot makes it a can't miss gun for me.

I enjoy plinking at the range with this 185 series. My eyes are useless with irons past 50 yds so this gets to blast clay birds on the 50 yd berm. I actually enjoy it more than my Colt AR carbine.
