I've cut a thumb ledge (gas pedal) into a few of my Glock frames now.
This was actually a viewer requested video, so I wanted to explain exactly how I did it from start to finish. Unfortunately, I do not have any other frames that I want to cut a thumb ledge into at this point, so this is a post modification breakdown.
I show the methods and tools that I used to get it done.
Not a professional, not recommending this, just sharing the process I followed for anyone who’s curious. I'm well aware they could be much more finished up to made to look more OEM, but I am not worried about that. I'm more concerned with the function over looks.
How did I do it? What Tools are needed?
-Straight edge of some sort
-Graphite pencil or similar
-Dremel Type Tool
-Cutting bits
-Sanding wheels
-Steel brush wheels
-Buffing/Polishing wheels
-Flitz metal polish
-Sand paper in a variety of grits from 220-2000
Curious what you all think:
Would you do this to your Glock to gain a little leverage for muzzle flip mitigation, or is this a pass?
