Has Springfield Armory stepped up their game?

I took my Echelon 4.5 out to the range yesterday with a close friend of mine who’s SDPD, soon to become a member here hopefully, to punch holes in paper. He brought along some cool stuff. An Echelon 4.0 comp, a Springfield 1911 TRP Operator and new Glock 45 gen 6. I shot my Echelon of course, and all of his cool toys too. I’ve got to say, the two Echelons felt better, shot flatter and seemed more comfortable in my hands compared to the gen 6 Glock. Oh, and that TRP, wow. I’m in love.

To all my fellow CAguns brethren. Respectfully keep in mind, this is just an opinion, not hate towards any Glock and their owners. No face palm emojis please. I’m sensitive and it hurts my feelings!

As far as the echelon is concerned, we are talking about HS Produkt who makes all their polymer guns. I do think the echelon is their best "produkt" lol

Being an owner of an XD9 4", an XDM Elite 3.8", an XD9 Subcompact, and now an Echelon 4.0C, I can honestly say that the Echelon is a big improvement over the other guns. I still love to shoot my XD9 4", but I can't wait to add the Echelon to my CCW so that I can carry it instead of the other guns.

Agreed! The Echelon 4.5 has replaced the G17 as my home defense gun. I wish it had a bit more aftermarket support but hopefully that will happen in the next few years.

I own 2 XD's a tactical and a subcompact both in .40. I use the tactical as a duty weapon in .40 with an extra sig barrel for range days and I run a sig .357 barrel in my subcompact. I absolutely love the XD's to be honest. The tactical feels closer to my 1911's than anything else I've shot. Both have ben super reliable and have had 0 issues. My other pistols are kimbers so I don't have much experience with other brands

The Echelon is a huge improvement iver the XD series guns.
Also the gen6 glock is is basically the g3 with a different grip so I wouldnt expect much of a difference vs previous gens of glocks.

My echelon is way better stock vs stock than my G19, both ergonomics and trigger

Yes TRP is amazing. A .45 has no business shooting that flat but the bull barrel does wonders.
