Feedback High number of positive feedback on "New Members"

We've got some members here that although they may not be the most active in the actual forums, their positive feedback count is very high. Any way to remove that status of "new member" for these members? Obviously not an issue for me, but I've been in contact with at least one member here who falls in this category.

Yes there’s a couple of ways,

1.) participate in the forums (free)
2.) Upgrade their account , they are obviously getting value out of the platform. They’ll get that removed and also get selective badges based on their tier.

For awhile, i thought i was going to reduce inbox size for members or ad more ads for members who have a high trader rating without supporting.

I crossed off the inbox and just left it. I'm still planning to add an annoying ad in the DM's if you have 15+ feedback and not a supporter. So there will be benefits to get those things removed. At it's most basic is $20/year, they keep telling me use ads to support the site, so I think i'll do that...

That would be great! We encourage participation, but don't reward freeloaders because they already get a lot of value, IMHO.

So "new" isnt about being recent, its about how active somebody is in the forums? Because I have been here for quite a while and I have "new" on my profile.

Yes, we’ve had “old” accounts from 2024 pop up before the change and they would start scamming. Account age is a bad metric, your post history + your feedback + badges is the most reliable way to know you aren't a grifter

Here we have a hybrid, in other forums you need 25 minimum posts to post. We don’t stop you from posting if that’s your thing.

Other sites will lock you out until you pay. So this is a slightly different way. People accept their own level of risk. Nothing is guaranteed only increases probability.

I noticed you have a 10+ feedback badge, and I believe I have more than 10 feedback, so is there some other criteria or are some badges not available anymore? How can we view our progress on a badge or member status or any of this to see were we stand?

Badges are paid, the feedback system is free.. It's a digital badge to highlight that you've verified. If we gave that out for free, what benefit would we have to give people? So, the actual badges are the level up but again we don't stop you from leaving or receiving feedback.

You do get a badge for free if you leave feedback for people, again to encourage people to leave feedback.

This system is helpful because on larger sites scammers will make multiple accounts and 'age' them so they can scam at a future date with what looks like an established member profile

btw mone dropped off recently and I haven't posted much, It's not a big deal
