What the hell ever happened to keeping an eye on your kids and/or keeping they shouldn't touch out of reach? I'm all for consumer protections, but this stupid nanny-state bull because of the brain-dead and zombies needs to end, like, yesterday.

Side rant: Getting into some 2032's is a major pain in the balls. I can't count the number of times I've nearly chopped off the tip of my thumb trying.

Sorry, but not sorry, to play devil's advocate here.

Reese's Law was put in place because an 18-month-old toddler ingested a lithium button cell battery (think like a CR2032), and it pretty much burned through his stomach and he died a horrible death. Lithium can be particularly nasty when it comes in contact with stomach acid. It's a PITA, but I can't fault the lawmakers on this one.

A 18 month old might shoot someone with an unattended firearm. So let's make a law they need to have proper packaging and labeling. Then keep replacing battery with everything else in the world that might harm an 18 month old. All the while your costs continue to rise and you still are going to leave all of those items around an 18 month old or they are going to do what 18 month olds do and get into things and it might still happen. You are either a statist or you are not.
