How do I install this Optic Cover Plate?

I couldn't find the right screw to mount this optic cover plate on my gun, did I do this right?

Just kidding, no that is not mine. This exceptional work of gunsmithing art was an item received by a customer who ordered an Optic Cover Plate on Amazon but received this beauty instead.

Apparently it's a returned item from a previous customer seeking a refund, but kept the original product instead. A common scam people do to Amazon sellers, and a common failure point on the part of the seller/logistics partner to inspect returns before sending them out to new customers.

Look at that screw. WTF is that? Probably a piece of evidence from a recent smash and grab event.
