How do you guys clean optics after shooting very dirty 22lr ammo? I have been using handsoap and water for mine. I want to hear from others

Rinse with water then use a microfiber and screen/eyeglass cleaner. Depending on your optic you might want to be careful with the optic coating. It can inadvertently come off if it has an anti-glare coating

That and Costco's double pack of Q-Tips for the win. Be careful though, I recently heard strangest thing- people are using them to clean wax from inside their ears- the horror!

I use my ribbed earplugs, like the ones you get from PX, in the plastic cases, the military ear plug. And then go to the range and shoot heavy recoil/muzzle blasting guns. When I finish, theres earwax all up in the ribs.
And then use the oily wax to lube my guns.

The same things that I use to clean my glasses. And don’t rub the lenses when they are dry. And don’t use Kleenex or TP. The paper is generally abrasive.

One of these to get loose dust off.
Zeiss wipes. If it’s coated on thick spray cleaner to do the rinse off then zeiss wipes.

I usually carry a microfiber towel with me to the range. Give it a good wipe at the range and deep clean when I get home later with mild soap and water.

In the field I will blow off all the debris and then either a lens pen or single use Zeiss optical wipes.
At home I have a hand powered squeeze blower to get off any loose debris. Then manual pump windex (nothing canned that could thermal shock my optic) and single use single use cotton swabs until it is clean. I will swap cotton swabs frequently as the last thing I want to do is grind any trapped grit into my optic.

I used to clean lenses as part of my job at an optics company and this is how we did it on the lens workbench:
Rubbing alcohol or windex are typically safe on most lens coatings.
Acetone is stronger if needed but be careful and test over against an edge before you work into the middle (field) of the lens.
We used Kimwipes in the open field and cotton swabs against the outer edges of the lens where it's mounted.
After you get all the stuff freely moving around and mostly removed from the glass, i do my final cleaning using fog from my breath.
