Feedback How does CAguns.net compare to other platforms?

I’ve heard a lot of positive things about TacSwap can I get some feedback with how the CAguns system compares? I'm considering going national with the framework. Now that we'll have a mix of local and national networks. All using the same logins that would hopefully allow for your feedback score to carry over via badge or other mechanism.

Anyone here actively use TacSwap or GAFS? Curious how your experience compares to what we’re doing here.

I’ve been thinking about taking the framework here to another level — possibly building a network of sites where your feedback and rep could carry over. Seamless identity across platforms, same core features.

If you’ve used either, I’d like to hear your take.

I used to be very active on GAFS (over 400 transactions) until one of new mods permabanned me (and a few other prolific users) for "acting like a vendor" because of the volume of transactions. The kicker is that a former (head) mod had previously clarified in a post that "acting like a vendor" is not against the rules. When I sent them a modmail pointing to that post, I got banhammered from all of Reddit for some vauge firearms related rules violation. When I reached out to said former mod he was like "yeah, I don't know what's going on, looks like the new mods are powertripping". So my feedback is basically...avoid giving carte blanche ban powers to every mod, especially new ones.

On flip side, the absolute requirement for timestamps and serial # on serialized items is the nicest thing about GAFS. This requires strict mod teams, and community engagement to report violations.

The requirement of using paypal G&S for shipped items with new sellers is buyer-friendly.

TBH, that's going to be hard for the pic with serial. I'd have to wait til we're big enough for that rule. It's hard enough to do here.

That makes sense. I’m mainly going for tacswap at the moment. Gotta figure out how to get the word out on the new sites.

The only other gun forum I ever frequent is CalGuns. This place is excellent.

One thing I’d like to see changed is the function of the “See More” button in threads. Every time I use it, the darn thing takes me back to the beginning of the thread and forces me to scroll all the way down again to see more posts. It should simply show more posts without the annoying scrolling.
