This video is more geared for Glock Newbies, just a quick how to to remove the magazine base pads with tools many folks already have.

If you need to remove the base pad from your Glock magazine, you don’t need expensive or specialized tools. Here’s a quick and easy method using common garage tools:
Note: Repeated use of the punch-only method can wear down the locking tabs, causing the base pad to sit loosely. The pliers method helps avoid this issue.

- Punch Method:
- Use a punch that fits the hole on the bottom of the mag.
- Push it in to release the locking plate "Magazine Insert".
- Then firmly pull or "rip" the base pad off.
- Pliers Method (Recommended):
- First, use the punch to push in and release the locking plate "magazine insert".
- Next, use a pair of pliers to gently squeeze the sides of the mag just above the base pad (where the internal tabs are). Recommend to use tape or something soft on the jaws to not mar the magazine.
- This releases pressure and allows you to slide the base pad off easily.
