How to sell non-compliant CA guns for someone who inherited them?

He has no interest in keeping any of the guns so what does he do? Does he have to make them compliant before he sells them or does he just sell them out of state?

He wants to comply completely and I'm trying to help him figure out the right path here

It depends what you mean by "Non-Compliant". He could be looking at anything from a felony, to a simple trip to his FFL.
