Kimber custom LS shadow ghost

Has anyone had to reginish a Kimber kW shadow ghost? Mine has about 6-700 rounds through it and the finishe ( especially on the inside of the slide) just flakes off

I wouldn't worry about the inside but outside is annoying, is it a cerakote?

oh yeah they still use that? it's somehow worse than cerakote. Interestingly your slide should be stainless so theoretically you could get it bead blasted. Otherwise if you want the best most durable coating look for DLC
 
I almost bought one a couple months ago, but I read the finish is notoriously bad. I ended up buying an FEG Hi Power here instead.

I might still get the stupid Kimber. It’s the only 9mm 1911 Gov. on the roster without a fluffing BoMar cut. (Except RIA)

I believe the springfields have LPA cut.... but that is not that much different than Bomar...
 
I do want a cheaper to feed 1911, I’m sure it shoots well. The price tag on those Rapides is silly.

I have a SA Loaded 45 and I love that. I do wonder If I could get Novak cut slide from SA for their 9mm Loaded Target.
