Hey all! I'm well on my way into my first AR build and currently have an LMT Mars L lower and an LMT MRP upper. Of course I didn't do my research in terms of making it a fixed mag build with regard to maker, as I understand making this LMT combo compliant is a real pain. I really wanted to go with the AR Maglock so I can deal with clearing malfunctions, so I emailed them to make sure it would work (and they told me it would) and I ordered one. But of course upon further research on the internet, it seems they don't jive together. It's in the mail currently so haven't been able to try for myself, but based on pictures, it seems a no-go without any sort of serious modification to the kit. Is anyone aware of any modifications I can make to the system to make it work, OR any other kit that would allow me to get the job done? Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Because that thing is full. Ambi you're honestly best bet is to go featureless but if you are dead set against it, the only one that I know of that really actually works is a comp mag. Full Ambi stuff is really hard to make magazine locked and also convenient

As a lefty who runs ambi setups, I had nothing but issues with maglock style items. Just go featureless and run a B5 grip.

As far as most mag lock products go, the comp mag is the only product that will work with ambi lowers. Unless you do some serious trial and error and messing with your lower to get it to work.

Do not forget you can simply keep the upper and lower separated and not shoot it while in California and you are 100% compliant. When the law is struck down or you leave the state, simply put it back together.

Not everyone has the money to spend on compliance parts. It is not pointless depending on your location and the amount of time you have. I would not spend a dime on compliance parts at this point in time knowing that they are going to strike down the law eventually. I would not even buy a complete AR15 right now given the 11% excise tax either. So if I am going to build something up, I am not going to build something with compliance parts when I can save my money and simply not put it together. That is a very viable and sound option even if you disagree with it.
