Modernizing the M9

My first 92 brig isn't cut. Maybe I'll cut this second one. I'll think about it.

Reading up on parts, but I just want to confirm again... M9 and 92 parts are completely interchangeable yes? I'm not a fan of the guide rod that came with the one I bought from here, so I was just going to get a standard 92 spring and guide rod.

Do you have their trigger? Where does it break? I really want to like the 92FS, but the trigger break is waaay to close to the grip. I'm curling my finger back onto itself by the time it actually lets the bullet go. I'm between trying to the Volker or the SAO Beretta trigger before giving up on the platform.

I don't know about the volker specifically but I think it's just the nature of DA/SA because it has to accommodate so much travel. I'm more into CZs but it's the same concept and problem for me and I much prefer SAO triggers just for the extra reach. But the Beretta does not have a safety that works well with single action

I'm really trying to like something other than the 1911 Gov, and it's not going well. I'm considering trying a CZ 75B SAO next time one shows up. I'm a lefty, so that leaves the classic CZ field pretty limited for me.

oh yeah lefty makes it hard with CZs because it's very hard to find ambi extended safeties that work well for single action but it is possible, I had to order a safety from Europe but it actually came fast it was just expensive. CZs are great, I don't think they actually do anything differently than a 1911/2011 though. I have an SP01 SAO that I love but I built a 2011, I don't actually think I even have a preference for one over the other as far as shooting, I ike the CZ ergonomics a bit better, the 2011 has a better recoil impulse, the CZ is more balanced, I ALMOST like the CZ trigger better even though it's not really adjustable in the same way and the 2011 trigger has only like a millimeter of takeup. Its certainly easier to set up a 1911 with ambi parts and they are easier to work on but require more tuning and adjustment. CZs don't have any adjustment and are generally more reliable on average.

Not the full works… but changed out the grips for thin LTT Langdon Tactical grips, that plus the Wilson combat short reach trigger transform the gun when you have smaller hands. It’s a big gun OEM.

Also added the LTT recoil spring and guide rod, WC hammer and hammer spring.

Personally I sold mine. The M9 wasn’t worth keeping around, need too much for to modernize it. I stick to my CZs these days. Great guns though however, super pleasant shooting experience

None of my handguns do this. I can always let go of the slide and it’ll go all the way forward. But on this M9 if it’s not let go hard from being retracted fully it doesn’t go all the way forward into battery.

So if you ride the slide at all it will hang up like this. My other guns don’t do that at all.

Yea. I still want an M9 with comp set up like The Professional. I really like the 92.

None of my handguns do this. I can always let go of the slide and it’ll go all the way forward. But on this M9 if it’s not let go hard from being retracted fully it doesn’t go all the way forward into battery.

So if you ride the slide at all it will hang up like this. My other guns don’t do that at all.
