Legal Moving AR15 to CA

I moved to ca earlier this year and left an ar in storage in Texas. Since then I had it dropped off at an FFL and modified to be ca compliant. A2 fixed stock, grip fin, flash hider removal, 30 round mags blocked down to 10 round capacity. But I've been her for more than 60 days or whatever it is. Can I still have it shipped in to a local FFL and get it registered in state or am I really assed all the way out??

Yes, it’s within 60 days or whatever the timeframe is from when the FIREARM ENTERS ca not the individual.

I don't see why you can't do a FFL transfer, even if you've been here more than 60 days. Just keep in mind that we have the BANNED by name list as well. Even though the rifle may be compliant feature-wise. It may be banned by specific make/model.

Jesus Christ they just keep piling more on! So I looked up the list and my Anderson Manufacturing AR isn't on it. That's crazy. So ARs, generally are allowed if feature compliant, but then there's also a list of very specific make/model ars that are never allowed even if feature compliant.

What reason exactly??? That doesn't even make any sense since the market is still full of all kinds of ARs anyway.

It's probably just that these were the most popular ones at the time the list was made so they thought it would limit the numbers all the more??

Welcome to California, where they make “common sense gun laws” that aren’t “common sense”. The ban on specific make and model was the early days of the assault weapon ban. It was response to the 1989 Stockton school shooting. This created the Roberti-Roos Assault Weapon Control Act, which was a list of firearms banned by make/model. Then manufacturers just started renaming firearms to be compliant with the law. The law was challenged and made its way to the state Supreme Court and was found constitutional under Kasler v. Lockyer, which California expanded the list to include the renamed firearms. California got tired of updating the list so they proposed/passed a feature ban.

Assault Weapons are an idea and not a function, as dumb as it is here it could be worse as some states are banning the actual function: semi automatic rifles.

I have said this to a friend of mine. It's bad here but we at least still have semi auto rifles... For now.
