Moving to CA with AR Pistols

I'm moving to CA with a few AR Pistols. I know they have to be mag locked so I bought a few Comp Mags and "installed" them. However I'm confused with the laws surrounding Drosing it as a semi-auto pistol. I understand I have to fill out a "new resident report of firearm ownership form", however, on the website the DOJ website it also states I can sell it to an individual by PPT through an FFL "within 60 days". https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/ab991
However if I decide to sell it on arrival without filling out a new resident form and listing on the form as semi-auto, then there would be no record of it being semi-auto in the CA system. So would the FFL dros it as a semi-auto pistol when I do the PPT? I am asking, because I saw WTS AR Pistol posts here stating they have paperwork that it is semi-auto, and it seems if the above is true, then I wouldn't need to fill out a new resident form and wait.
If anyone has advice on how to PPT an AR Pistol in general upon moving to CA, that would be great as well. Thanks

You don't even have the receipt from when you purchased them! A receipt would show that they were purchased as a pistol.

If you are not planning to sell them, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I knew a guy that moved from NV to CA. He didn't fill out any form and sold 7 pistol the day he got his CA drivers license. There was no issues.

No, not all the receipts do not show that information. I have one that was purchased as a completed pistol lower, but most of them were stripped lower receivers and listed as such on the ATF form when I purchased them. Then I built them out in the free state I live in as pistol lowers.

Keep in mind that CA has a limit on the number of firearms transactions you can do in a year as a non-FFL set at 6, IIRC.

So if you show up and sell 10 guns to 10 different people, that "may" be noticed by the CA DOJ and trigger something, though I've never heard of anything happening.
While they do have that law on the books, it rarely gets enforced. I know plenty of people, myself included, that have done more then 6 transactions in a year, with nothing happening at all. The only thing I've ever heard happening is you'll get a letter, asking if you're a dealer.

I'm California born and raised, and as a friend, I'm telling you to turn around and live free 🤣

Amen brother. I have been living in the welfare state for over 40 years. I have seen the gradual shift to the far left for many years, believe me there is no hope for us here. 16% of the population works for the government , 5% of the population is on welfare, and they keep on manufacturing laws , do the math. And guess what? The new laws mean more taxes to hire even more people. In the process of packing my bags. I wish you the best.

If you're coming, bring as many as you can get your hands on. Stack receivers everywhere you can and haul em in.
OP, this is true.

If you can, buy 10 G43x and you'll make 10K the first week you get you CA license.

Having left Uncle Nosecandy Newsoms Kalifornistan a few years ago, I wouldn’t declare a DAMN thing I own should I ever have to return. But all kinds of off toaster goods and sell them for a nice chunk of change. Just don’t go over your “prescribed” 5 transactions or you’ll have the DOJ checking your butthole for hidden offenses.

Why mess with glocks when you can get staccatos.

Because the margin of profit is higher on Glocks than Staccato. For the price of 1x Staccato P you could buy 4x Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS and net roughly $2200-2400 in profit at $1100-1200 a piece compared to only $1000-1100 in profit from the single Staccato at $4000.

I know Staccato are cooler guns, but if we're thinking from a perspective of making money, Glocks all the way.

Yep. Even out here, everywhere, although other companies have caught up and have great guns, Glocks are still as great as ever and they just sell themselves. You can buy a Glock 43x MOS out here all day long for $450-475 at private party which means... easily doubling your miney in CA based on those prices and it's a LOT easier to find a Glock buyer than a Staccato buyer. Just like a Colt Gold Cup vs. a Wilson Combat. You'll sell either given enough time and the right buyer but that Gold cup and five more will sell in one day. A Glock or a Colt of any sort never lasts more than a day or two in our local marketplaces.
