Moving to Sacremento

First post on here as well,
I am moving from Florida to California in the near future - was looking for shooting/hunting advice for the area and any additional tips to pair with some of the past reccomendations I've gotten for the move -
IE: stock up on ammo, leave behind LCMs, pick up any off roster handguns I might want ahead of time.

If you are hunting on public land temper your expectation for getting a deer, the deer harvest stats are around 20% for the state which is the worst in the country. On the flipside the waterfowl hunting is excellent and you can take meat home frequently. Sacramento has a lot of decent ranges and a lot of competitions from PRS to USPSA to whatever the cowboy one is called

Thanks - I've througly tempered my expectations hunting public land in Florida and will keep myself from getting excited!

Haha for sure, there are deer here and a lot of public land but the problem is there's also a lot of hunters. The further out into wilderness areas you can get the better but don't be surprised if some old dudes pass you riding horses and get to your spot first.

Yuuuuup.
Have hit a few out of season.
My vehicles are killing machines.
In my area they are like rats.
Same with Turkeys.
The Buck's are good at hiding but plentiful.
This year have seen a lot of twins being born.

Only a few miles North of Sacramento.
Two seasons.....Green and Brown.

Also a Bear passing through every 2-3 months, range finder...150yds.

California....just make the best of it.
