Outdoor Shooting Locations near San Diego County?

I am new to the area, I much prefer outdoor shooting, however my current location I frequent, Ocotillo Wells, is a good 2.5hr drive. Is there any closer general locations that you folks recommend near San Diego County? Range or BLM.
 
Outdoor range there is South Bay Rod Club (I think that's the name). P2K in El Cajon had an outdoor shotgun area. There is also Pala which is in the Temecula area.

Ocotillo Wells is the closest year round BLM land I know of. There is Pink Gate as well but it is currently closed for fire season. That's typically open for shooting from around Oct-Apr depending on conditions
 
South Bay Rod & Gun Club is in Dulzura right by the border. It's got a few private bays, trap/skeet, and a 50-300yd rifle range. I was a member when I lived in SD and enjoyed shooting there. Up in north county try out Pala Range, it goes out to 1000yds.
 
Lemon grove rod and gun club is in alpine. It’s a private range but has public events regularly including trap, 5 stand, sporting clays, long range rifle in both center fire and rimfire. There is tactical shot gun matches and 2 pistol matches a month and a 3rd members only Wednesday match once a month. A outlaw USPSA style match and an IDPA match. Becoming a member is pretty easy and the membership fees aren’t bad. If you are a shotgun guy it’s definitely hard to beat.
