Paul Harrell has passed…

Ouch, I was just watching a video by his brother saying time was short.
 
I saw the same video last night. I've been watching his stuff for years. I remember watching when he revealed being ill.
and how he began to shows signs of loosing his battle.
I'll miss your wit and insights into firearms and training. What a loss for the community.
Rest in peace Paul.
 
Cancer can fook all the way off. It took my Dad and it almost took my wife.

I discovered Paul's channel about 4 years ago. Working from home allowed my to play YouTube in the background on the TV for entertainment, and the first video I saw was his .357 vs .44 mag carbine video. I really grew to enjoy the thoroughness, the detail, the wealth of knowledge, and the subtle, dry humor.

When an enthusiast community of any genre loses a person like Paul, it's like a library burning down. One can only imagine what he didn't get to share. I'm grateful to have found his channel and grateful that it will be remaining in place. He is no longer suffering and is at peace. Godspeed, Paul.
 
I feel as though I lost a mentor of mine and I never met him. I started getting into gun tubers about 10 years ago. The world lost a great man today.
 
I am re-watching his analysis of the 1986 FBI Miami incident. His passing hits hard, for someone I've never met in person, only through computer screen.
 
May God rest his soul. Paul is truly a funny, articulate, and knowledgeable man, who spent years sharing his wisdom and acting as a sort of internet gun-uncle character for a whole generation of new shooters. See you, space cowboy.
 
Sorry, but who is this gentleman? If you guys are sad about it, then I am too - he must be a good guy & one of us. Tragic.
 
He was a well regarded, experienced “gun person” who shared his knowledge with others in a simple, down-to-earth practical manner without lots of hype.
 
I’ve been shooting since 2012 and don’t remember ever coming across any of his videos. I just saw someone post about it in a comment on one of armed scholars video. Seems like he was a good ambassador for the 2A community. RIP.

I re-watched his “shooting while in bed” video, and laughed after he flung up the covers, exposing those yellow pajamas. And, that was in the rain to boot!
I once hosted an event at our club wherein we did something similar, and we too found that a lot of automatic pistols malfunctioned when impeded by bedding. Same occurred when shooting from within jacket pockets, handbags/purses, etc.
His comments about those who actually sleep with firearms in their beds being alone was funny as well.
