Here are some of my perm attach jobs:
Steel runs $70 and aluminum/titanium/inconel run $100 assuming the muzzle device and barrel are already fully degreased and installed into proper alignment without any chemicals on the threads.
$10 more if I have to degrease and install the muzzle device in preparation for perm attach.
Work is done while you wait so it's only one shop visit.

non-firearms such as AR uppers or pistol slides can be shipped-in to me for this work.
Any work on a firearm is only done by in-person shop visit.

Another vote for AR15 barrels. He’s done a handful for me over the last 10 years. Most recent being a barrel cut down and P&W on a KAC inconel compensator. All in it took less than an hour and it was done while I waited.

Is there anything we should know (nitride, gas port size, crown, etc.) regarding chopping and threading barrels in advance of a pin and weld job? How much would that run for?

Serious question on the topic of 'pin and welds': is it possible to use my Harbor Freight Flux core gasless welder to spot weld the muzzle on my AR15?

That's too many questions to answer all at once because each of those are factors that eaffect the cost as does the type of gun as that determines how the barrel has to be fixtured.
It's typically an extra $20 to work on nitrided barrels.
I have pricing for all of this work on my various different websites based on what platform the barrel is for.
Start by picking the correct site to match up with the style of your gun.
Then start with the tear-down and reassembly services if you don't have the ability to do that yourself.
Then choose the appropriate shorten/thread service based on what type of threads you want.
Perm attach prices vary based on the material of the muzzle device is made from.

The quality of the weld will be directly effected by the welder and the welding process chosen.
If you make great looking welds with your flux-core welder, then you should get just as good a weld as you are used to making.
I know that I would personally never use a flux-core welder on anything gun related, but that's because I have 30+ years welding experience and Miller tig/mig welding machines.
I have not done a perm attach job with even a gas shielded mig welder since I got my first tig welder 20+ years ago.
