Range Report: S&W Shield X (Non Comp)

Recently acquired a Shield x, took it out for a full range day and wanted to share my thoughts.

Coming from someone who was mostly a Glock shooter, I have come to find how good other guns feel and handle outside of Glocks and this Shield X being one of my first guns in the 9mm outside of Glock. I have a Glock 43 that I brought with me and shot alongside and I personally shot so much better with the Shield X. The Glock would tend to shoot low or high no matter how I angled the sights. Shield X landed wherever I would point it.

I ran a mix of Super Vel reman ammo and some remington brown box (Police and Military training ammo) everything ran great no feed issues after 300 rounds

What I like about this gun is how the grip handles, for smaller hands like mine it really lets your hand get tucked under the slide, the texturizing on the grip is a little harsh when new but after handling it, throwing it around in gear bags the rough griptape like texture begins to soften.

Overall this a great pistol, and you get a great value being that it is optic ready vs a glock in this class

Shooting was done at 25 yards, 5 round groups

I'm a believer now, funny enough I traded a almost new G19 for this. No regrets!

Which drills did you run? Any rapid fire or doubles? I prefer my Shield X over my G19 as well, but my performance with them is nearly identical.

You got ripped off, nowadays you should have traded G19 for three shields

Just 5 round bursts, you can mostly see all the groups together with 5 rounds, G19 shoots really well too I still have a Gen 2 but the Shield feels much better IMO.

There was some cash on top, but honestly didn't care too much for it plus it saved me hassle of doing another DROS if I was to sell for cash and buy the Shield somewhere.
