Honestly most of the staff there have checked out or just don't care. Also on the Peninsula and generally one of the "first in line"-rs as well.
I've not seen too much craziness that early in the day, but I only go once or twice a month. Not sure how it is later in the day but in the first hour it feels like the range is completely unsupervised. I almost NEVER see anyone looking in the windows to observe. Generally I've not seen anything bad other than one guy who was putting his gun away into his shooting bag behind the firing line as I was leaving. Went and told the staff and they were like "oh, yeah, shouldn't be doing that" and went back to checking people in/out. The only time I really get nervous is when some shotgun guy is blasting holes in paper and shouting "WHOOO!" after every shot. OK, you got some littleenergy there bud, try not to cream yourself over the loud noises.
I actually prefer LARG, but when I am there I am slowly loosing myduring cease fires because we've got to wait for the people over on the 100 yard range to slowly walk back and forth while they examine the 3 rounds they shot during the previous firing period. Or wait for some shooter who has no idea how to lock their slide back to get educated by the staff... at Reeds I can get in an out in under an hour.
Honestly, as I think about it, I wonder how much Reeds actually gives a F- about ANYTHING given they can't be bothered to take 15 minutes after closing to get a stencil and paint some yardage markers on the damn wall. Even just use one of those fat sharpies or something.
There are still good people there like Hank,
The rank and file have a extremely high turn over rate and it shows.
