S&W Bodyguard 2.0 (California version) Field Strip & Assembly Walkthrough (with video)

Just uploaded a quick walkthrough showing how to field strip and reassemble the California version of the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 2.0 .380.

The CA model has a slightly different process because of the magazine disconnect safety, so I figured this might help some people out. I'm sure there are things that can be done differently, by no means is this an end all be all guide, but it will get the job done.

If you do not have a magazine disconnect safety, you can skip and of the steps involving the magazine.

Field Strip

• Make sure firearm is unloaded, check physically and visually, make sure the magazine is also unloaded
• With magazine inserted, pull slide to the rear until slide lock
• Press takedown lever into the down position
• Remove magazine
• Press slide release and slowly let the slide move forward all the way
• Pull the trigger
• Remove Slide assembly
• Remove recoil spring assembly from slide
• Remove barrel from slide

Should be disassembled enough for more cleanings

Assembly

• Insert barrel into the slide
• Insert recoil spring assembly into the slide below the barrel, make sure it's centered and stays in place on its own
• Install slide assembly and lock slide to the rear
• Move takedown lever in to up position
• Press slide release and slowly let the slide move forward

Should now be assembled, do a few dry fire reps to test and make sure.
