It's been bad the last couple times. The first was of course the hack. Now I think it's pure volume.

My brother and I submitted our renewal paperwork late September (including training and live fire card). He got an email a few weeks later he was approved but has yet to receive his card. I am still not yet approved. Seems timelines are all over the place and there is no order as to how they do these.
 
Has anyone moved with pending renewal paperwork submitted? I'll be moving next week (still SB county). I know I need to notify them of the move, but what happens with my renewal paperwork that has all my old info, do I need to start over completely? Anyone been in this situation?

I Had an interview Oct and havnt heard back . Interviewer told me like up to 5 months . But didn’t need psych evaluation???
 
Does anyone know how far back on the addresses we have to go? I am 73 and cannot remmeber addresses from 50 years when I was single and moving around a lot as a renter or when I was in the Navy and deployed for 6 or 9 months, then home again, then deployed again.

I think it was 5 years on my app
 
Just started the renewal process. Current CCW expires on 11/1/26. Will update timeline below...
  • 8/3/26 - Submitted application and paid fee
  • 8/6/26 - Completed CCW Renewal Training Course and uploaded documents
  • 8/12/26 - Received email from SBCSD saying I need Livescan
  • 8/13/26 - Performed Livescan and uploaded document to Permitium
  • 9/21/26 - Received email that I needed to log into Permitium to pay for Livescan and did that
  • 9/22/26 - Received email that my renewal has been approved! Now need to wait for it to be printed and mailed.
  • 9/25/26 - Received my new card in the mail.
Overall, not too bad.

I have a renewal coming up os started going down the rabbit hole of anything new I should be aware of.

My last renewal, I qualified with a red dot and wml on one of my guns.

Does it indicate on my card or anything recorded that I qualified with add on?

It says you can't modify your ccw without qualifying as is but how do they know what you qualified with? Was it on the range card the RSO signed?

For San Bernardino? It's pretty easy. You qualify with whatever guns you want to have on your CCW, regardless of what was on your prior CCW. The range card the RSO signs has what you qualified for.

Be prepared to remove any add ons that may cover the guns serial numbers. They have to be confirmed by the RSO.

Yup. When I started my renewal, they didn't have the livescan cost in there yet so they had to email me later to have me do the livescan and then log back in to pay the fee.

They may have it in permitium now.

So, I just got my renewed CCW card with my new guns on it. The question now is...my current one expires on 11/1/26 and the new card has an issue date of 11/1/26. I'm guessing I can't use the new card and carry my new guns until 11/1, correct?

Yup that's what they told me. Keep using the old one until the renewal date.
